Prayer Tip: The ACTS Method

We know we’re supposed to pray, but many of us don’t know how. In coming days, we’ll shared some practical prayer tips to help you establish prayer routines.

Here’s the first tip: the ACTS method.

Part of our difficulty with prayer is that we don’t know what to say to God or when to say it. The ACTS method helps with this problem. This acronym gives you a basic structure for your prayer, moving strategically from focusing on God to focusing on your needs.

  • A – Adoration
Tell God how amazing he is (Ps. 66:3)
  • C – Confession
Confess your sins and ask for forgiveness. (1 Jn. 1:9)
  • T – Thanksgiving
Tell God what you’re thankful for. (Ps. 69:30)
  • S – Supplication
Share your needs with God. (Phil. 4:6)

If you use this method, tell us how it goes in the comments!
