Failure and Faithfulness (Genesis 12:10-20)

Morning Worship
April 25, 2021

In last week’s passage, Abraham obeyed God. He left his homeland for the sake of God’s promise to bless him and make him into a great nation. But in today’s verses, Abraham fails. He gives up his own wife to protect himself. Yet it’s through this failure that we see a marvelous truth: God’s faithfulness is far greater than our failures. This theme echoes throughout the Old Testament, continually reminding us that God will fulfill his promises.
